Personal Watercraft and Jet Ski Insurance

At Premier Marine Insurance we understand that every Jet Ski experience is different - so we won’t try to sell you a standard boat insurance policy.  Instead we offer a specialist personal watercraft insurance that is designed to provide you with the kind of cover that will protect you, your Jet Ski, and your liabilities to other people. What’s more, our specialist Jet Ski insurance team members are fully trained by the RYA so you can be sure that our advisors understand what you are looking for in a policy.

Please find below details of the questions usually asked by our Jet Ski customers.  If you cannot see the answer to a question you have please do not hesitate to call our marine insurance team on 0344 892 1321

Q. How far out to sea can I travel on my Jet Ski?
A. Your policy covers you for up to 12 miles offshore.

Q. My 14 year-old son would like to use my Jet Ski. Will he be covered?
A. No, not unless you tell us and he is capable of safely handling the craft. We recommend that all potential users take the Personal Watercraft course approved by the RYA (Royal Yachting Association). You must tell us about any user of your Jet Ski who is under 21.

Q. I am going on holiday to Spain this year and intend taking my Jet Ski. Do I need to make any special arrangements?
A. Your policy covers you to take your Jet Ski to Europe for up to 30 days; we suggest that you contact us before you go as certain countries request a copy of your insurance policy schedule in their own language. Also please check to see if any specific licences or permits are needed to launch and to use your craft.

Q. I have a dry suit, helmet and life vests that are worth around £500. What is the best way to insure them?
A. These things are best covered under the 'All Risks' section or your home contents insurance policy so that they can be covered at any location. Our Jet Ski team will be pleased to give you more advice.
