Please find below details of the questions usually asked by our RIB customers.  If you cannot see the answer to a question you have please do not hesitate to call our marine insurance team on 0344 892 1321

Q. Will my tube be covered against punctures?
A. Yes, if the cause is accidental and not due to wear and tear.

Q. Am I covered if I tow my RIB behind my car?
A. Yes if your RIB is less than 30 feet (9 metres) in length. You must ensure the craft is properly secured if left unattended on a journey. Damage or injury to other persons when the boat is attached is covered by the insurance of the towing vehicle. Please notify us if you require transit cover for craft over 30 feet.

Q. My policy says I'm covered to use my RIB in UK coastal waters.  How far offshore can I go?
A. You are covered for up to 12 miles offshore. However, you can be more than 12 miles offshore if you are travelling between two points on the mainland.

Q. Do I need a lock for my outboard?
A. Yes. In order to cover your RIB for theft your outboard needs to be secured to the transom by a locking device.

Q. My RIB is fitted with a 'kill cord', should I use it all the time?
A. Yes. You will render your cover invalid if you fail to attach your kill cord. Occupants thrown from the craft can avoid serious injury if the engine can be cut.
